About

Schwartz Montoya Legal, LLC

Schwartz Montoya Legal, LLC was established in 2023 by Matthew F. Schwartz, Esq. and John P. Montoya, Esq. as a successor organization to Lange Legal Group, LLC.  Matt and John are honored to serve the community by providing the services previously offered by Lange Legal Group, who for over 30 years served the legal needs of over 3,000 clients, a clientele comprised of individuals, families, and businesses who have trusted us with their most valuable and precious assets. Matt and John are committed to providing the most innovative and sound estate planning and administration strategies available.

Most estate planning firms are only focused on what happens after death and are not proactive in offering lifetime transfer of wealth advice.  We review these considerations with you and provide advice regarding lifetime gifts to family members, Roth IRA conversions, and minimizing income taxes during life to maximize the inheritance for the next generation, just to name a few wealth transfer techniques.

Although estate planning certainly is analytical and quantitative in nature, the best solution may not always be the one that optimizes tax savings.  In listening to the goals of our clients, we understand that often the best solution is the one that matches and helps foster the family’s values and objectives, regardless of the tax implications.

Along with our retirement and estate planning services, we partner with families to navigate the complicated paperwork involved with estate and trust administration, providing support to our clients through this difficult and highly emotional process.  We will work with your family to implement your estate plan and provide comprehensive advice and recommendations throughout the administration process.  We have introduced planning opportunities that both save taxes for families and help to get funds to younger family members at a time when they can most use the money.
